The INSPIRE PROGRAM, spanning from 2024 to 2029, is designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and growth through a structured framework of initiatives, funding opportunities, and mentorship programs. It seeks applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing research, education, or professional development in their respective fields, along with a proven ability to lead impactful projects and drive meaningful outcomes. Successful candidates will be expected to engage in high-level strategic planning, execute research or development activities, and contribute to the program’s overarching goals of knowledge sharing and societal advancement. Additionally, they must adhere to the program’s guidelines, meet reporting requirements, and actively participate in collaborative networks to maximize the initiative’s reach and effectiveness. Led by GOAL and Wageningen Environmental Research, the INSPIRE initiative seeks to strengthen the economic and agricultural resilience of rural communities in the Mango and Busoni regions. Resilience Uganda will spearhead the execution of Pathway II, with a primary focus on advancing the Sustainable Farming Systems component within the broader INSPIRE framework.
Missions
The Land Management Officer is responsible for overseeing the administration, conservation, and sustainable use of public and private land resources. Key responsibilities include conducting land surveys, evaluating environmental impact assessments, and ensuring compliance with zoning laws and land-use regulations. The position requires a strong understanding of land management principles, proficiency in GIS software, and excellent analytical and communication skills. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with government agencies, landowners, and stakeholders to develop land-use plans, resolve disputes, and promote best practices in land stewardship. A relevant degree in land management, environmental science, or a related field, along with professional certification, is typically required.

Provide comprehensive project support by collaborating closely with fellow officers and technicians within the INSPIRE program.
Assist with the execution of activities outlined under the INSPIRE program, which may extend beyond land management initiatives.
Contribute to the formulation of Integrated Community Plans, with a particular emphasis on offering expertise in land and water management aspects. Facilitate annual farmer exchange visits and roadshows to highlight innovative agricultural practices and technologies.
Develop demonstration plots to showcase sustainable land use practices. Coordinate annual events designed to highlight achievements and foster motivation through competitive initiatives. Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of smallholder farming methods, soil and water conservation techniques, erosion control strategies, and community outreach initiatives. Fluency in both English and the local languages of the Mango Sub-region is essential for this role.
Position available in the Mango Sub-Region. Strong reporting skills, a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to ride a motorcycle are required.
