Role Overview The Head of Management & Training oversees the creation, implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of the Alistair Group’s training (including specialized programs) and all processes that ensure optimal personnel management. This role involves leveraging discipline, communication, data analysis, and problem-solving to enhance workforce effectiveness. Responsibilities Provide operational support to the Alistair Group to ensure all training and management objectives are achieved to the required standard and in full alignment with the company’s values. Perform routine needs assessments to guarantee that all fleets maintain a minimum reserve of 10%. Deliver training and management in strict compliance with Alistair’s established directives, processes, and standards. Deliver guidance, oversight, and coaching to Managers and Trainers to uphold adherence with all Alistair training and management frameworks. Review instructional materials to confirm their suitability for all programs offered, providing recommendations where deemed necessary. Redefine and establish innovative training and management frameworks, securing organizational endorsement before spearheading their deployment, and subsequently ensuring adherence to pre-agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Deliver instruction in a manner that is professional, timely, and accurate, aligning with globally recognized best practices. Maintain meticulous documentation by accurately capturing, managing, and updating all training and compliance records within the designated dashboards and internal systems. Monthly, conduct comprehensive performance evaluations and deliver constructive feedback to assess and enhance results. Spearhead all disciplinary issues. Facilitate performance evaluations and disciplinary actions whenever circumstances warrant such measures. Verify adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and applicable legal requirements. Liaise with external stakeholders. Propose novel concepts and approaches to enhance the effectiveness of training programs and management strategies. Spearhead the advancement of Alistair Group’s Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality vision and values with unwavering commitment and strategic leadership. Ensure all incidents, including accidents, thefts, fines, or breakdowns, are promptly reported to the appropriate departments to uphold all legal obligations and safeguard the organization’s interests. Facilitate the timely and accurate dissemination of market intelligence and strategic insights pertaining to Alistair Group’s interests and the sectors in which it operates to senior management and pertinent internal stakeholders. Execute any additional duties as assigned by the Head of Operations and/or Principals. Education A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Finance, Economics, or Business Management is required. An Honors degree or a Master’s qualification is highly desirable, with an MBA considered an additional asset. With a minimum of five to ten years of hands-on experience in Training and Management, the ideal candidate will bring a wealth of practical expertise to the role. Operational experience with articulated vehicles, particularly those equipped with HOW SING models featuring splitter gearboxes, is required. Experienced in operating and managing Triable, Pup, and Super-link trailer configurations. Train the Trainer Certification. Trainer Certification. Dangerous Goods Certification. Proven expertise in utilizing transport management software solutions is required. Zambian Citizen.
