Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC), a leading provider of housing and related services in Malawi, was established under the Malawi Housing Act of 1964 (Cap. 32:02). Position: Maintenance Clerk Location: Regional Offices (South and East) Grade: HC 12 Reporting Line: Maintenance Supervisor / Regional Manager Key Responsibilities: – Compile and process tenant reports, initiating job cards for tradesmen as required. – Reconcile job cards and requisition materials for various units within the section. – Process material requisitions submitted by tradesmen after their evaluations. – Prepare monthly timesheets and overtime forms for all temporary staff. – Conduct physical inspections of completed tradesmen work prior to handover for approval or payment. – Prepare and type maintenance documentation. – Organize and file section documents. – Generate and submit routine reports as scheduled. Minimum Requirements: – Education: Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with a City and Guilds Grade 1 Certificate, or a diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related discipline. – Experience: At least two years of relevant professional experience. Desired Competencies: – Comprehensive understanding of maintenance operations. – Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. – Clear and effective communication skills, coupled with decisive judgment. – Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative.
