Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC), founded under the Malawi Housing Act of 1964 (Cap. 32:02), stands as the leading provider of housing and related services in Malawi. Position: Land Surveyor Location: Regional Office (North), Mzuzu Grade: HC 7 Reports to: Regional Manager (North) Key Responsibilities: β Oversee computations for cadastral surveys. β Execute comprehensive land surveys (cadastral and topographic) for MHC and external clients across the region. β Address land survey requests and resolve boundary disputes promptly. β Develop plans and allocate budgets for the survey section. β Collaborate with the Estates Management Section to address encroachment issues on MHC land holdings. β Maintain and manage survey equipment. β Submit timely progress reports on regional land survey activities. β Assign tasks and evaluate staff performance. Minimum Qualifications & Requirements: β Bachelor of Science Degree in Land Surveying. β Mandatory registration with the Surveyors Institute of Malawi or an equivalent recognized professional body. Professional Experience: β A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in land surveying. Core Competencies & Attributes: β In-depth expertise in all survey methodologies and operations. β Strong leadership, organizational, and coordination capabilities. β Proficiency in computer applications. β Self-motivated with resilience and the capacity to work extended hours in challenging conditions. β Ability to function effectively as part of a team.
