The EBRD is seeking a Principal Environmental and Social Advisor to join its Environment and Sustainability Department in Lagos, Nigeria. This role involves leading environmental and social due diligence and monitoring activities across various sectors, including extractives and infrastructure. The Principal will collaborate with international advisors, EBRD bankers, and clients, and will be responsible for managing complex projects and ensuring compliance with environmental and social policies. The position requires travel to EBRD's countries of operation and offers opportunities for mentoring and capacity building. Degree in environmental/social sciences, engineering, or related field Proven track record in appraising environmental and social risks Knowledge of international environmental and social standards Experience with financing instruments and IFI policies Strong interpersonal and project management skills Excellent written and spoken English; local language fluency preferred Experience in mentoring and coaching staff Ability to communicate complex issues to diverse stakeholders
