WE ARE HIRING | SENIOR TRAVEL CONSULTANT & OPERATIONS OFFICER EDU AND WORK CONNECT LTD (EWC) is seeking an experienced, proactive and commercially driven travel professional to join our growing team in Lilongwe, Malawi, under our EWC Travels division. We are looking for an individual who understands the travel industry, has practical GDS experience and can independently manage flight ticketing, visa processing and tour package operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Air Ticketing & Reservations Manage domestic and international flight reservations. Handle ticket issuance, reissues, cancellations and refunds. Prepare competitive flight quotations and interpret airline fare rules. Work confidently with Amadeus and Galileo (Travelport). 2. Visa Processing Manage visit visa applications and supporting documentation. Advise clients on visa application requirements and procedures. Coordinate applications, follow-ups and client updates. 3. Tours & Travel Packages Develop, cost and sell domestic and international tour packages. Prepare travel itineraries and holiday quotations. Coordinate hotel reservations, airport transfers and tour activities. 4. Sales & Customer Relations Convert travel enquiries into confirmed bookings. Maintain strong client relationships and provide professional after-sales support. Identify new business opportunities and contribute to EWC Travels' growth. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a travel agency, airline or tour operations environment. Demonstrable practical experience using Amadeus and Galileo GDS . Proven experience in visa application processing. Experience designing, costing and selling tour packages. Strong knowledge of international travel procedures and airline fare rules. Excellent communication, customer service and negotiation skills. Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments. Professional, organised, accountable and sales-oriented. This is an experienced-level position. Candidates without practical travel agency and GDS experience are strongly discouraged from applying.
