Hotel-only, airline-only, outbound retail or unrelated management experience does not meet the sector requirement. Magic Travels is recruiting a Country Manager to lead DMC operations in mainland Tanzania. This senior, hands-on position combines team leadership, budget and P&L responsibility, supplier contracting and premium, tailor-made mainland safari product development for international tour operators and travel agencies. Responsibilities – Lead the local team and country operations, setting clear service standards and operational priorities. – Manage country budgets and P&L, monitor operating costs and margins, and address performance gaps. – Develop and maintain premium, tailor-made mainland safari itineraries, ensuring practical routing and reliable delivery. – Contract and manage accommodation, safari transport, guides, experiences and other mainland suppliers. – Coordinate reservations and field delivery, resolve incidents and maintain clear communication with international B2B partners. – Maintain supplier quality through hands-on operational follow-up and timely resolution of service issues. Required experience You have at least five years of experience in travel and tourism, including verifiable work within a DMC, inbound tour operator or ground handler. You can demonstrate senior operational leadership, team management and personal responsibility for budgets and P&L. You bring practical mainland Tanzania safari knowledge and a relevant local supplier network. You understand how accommodation, safari transport, guides and activities fit together in a premium, tailor-made itinerary, including the logistical constraints that affect delivery on the ground. Direct B2B experience serving international tour operators and travel agencies is required, alongside professional English, supplier contracting and practical field experience. General hospitality, outbound retail or generic management experience alone does not meet the inbound operations requirement. This appointment is based in mainland Tanzania.
