A new boutique hotel in Blantyre is inviting applications from qualified, experienced and service-oriented hospitality professionals for the position of FOOD AND BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR. The successful candidate will oversee kitchen, restaurant and bar operations, ensuring excellent food quality, efficient service delivery, proper stock control and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise the daily operations of the kitchen, restaurant and bar. Coordinate chefs, waiters and bartenders to ensure efficient service delivery. Monitor food preparation, presentation, portion sizes and consistency. Assist in menu development, menu costing and food production planning. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation and kitchen hygiene requirements. Monitor food and beverage costs and minimize wastage. Maintain appropriate food and beverage stock levels in coordination with the Stores and Procurement Clerk. Ensure proper storage, handling and rotation of food and beverage supplies. Prepare staff duty rosters and monitor employee attendance and performance. Ensure that restaurant and bar areas are properly prepared before service. Monitor guest feedback and address complaints relating to food and beverage services. Train staff on service standards, hygiene, safety and professional conduct. Prepare departmental reports on stock consumption, wastage, service performance and operational requirements. Work closely with the GENERAL MANAGER to improve service quality and departmental profitability. Minimum Qualifications and Experience Diploma in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts or Food Production. At least three (3) years of relevant experience in kitchen, catering or food and beverage operations, preferably with supervisory responsibilities. Good knowledge of food preparation, menu planning, food costing and portion control. Understanding of food safety, sanitation and hygiene standards. Experience in stock control, staff supervision and food and beverage cost management. Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
