Role Description The Lawyer will provide comprehensive legal support to the organization, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents. The role involves advising internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and risk management, as well as monitoring changes in relevant laws and regulations. The Lawyer will represent the company’s interests in dealings with external counsel, regulatory bodies, and other third parties, and will help resolve disputes through appropriate legal channels. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kigali, requiring close collaboration with leadership and operational teams. Qualifications Strong skills in legal research, analysis, and interpretation of statutes, regulations, and case law. Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, policies, and other legal documents. Ability to advise on corporate governance, compliance frameworks, and risk management strategies. Experience handling disputes, supporting litigation or alternative dispute resolution, and managing external counsel. Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL. B) and valid license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction; additional legal certifications are an advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to non-legal stakeholders. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple matters. Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in an on-site environment in Kigali.
