MAIN PURPOSES Under the responsibility of Cell 2 and in close collaboration with the Medical, PCA, Safeguarding and Humanitarian Affairs teams, support in the design and direct implementation of the strategy for responding to violence in Tera and Diffa (Niger) and Koro and Menaka (Mali) with the overall objective to assist direct and indirect victims of violence and integrate protection measures to alleviate suffering, restore dignity, create safe spaces of humanity TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES Lead in the design, delivery and analysis of assessments to understand lived experience of violence (patterns, objective and subjective needs from survivors and co-survivors, capacities and coping mechanisms, local contextualised expression of suffering and grief, support mechanisms and barriers of access to care) Together with HoM and Medco, co-lead the development of a programmatic response to violence, and ensure that response strategies and services (1) are informed by the understanding generated by the assessments and (2) proactively seek to develop trust and ensure trauma sensitive approaches Work closely with CMT to integrate the programmatic response to violence into the project's Logframe Design and lead participatory workshops to seek preferences of different segments of the community regarding service provision and use that information to adapt circuits and other relevant aspects of service provision Lead and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration at project level to set up effective holistic care for all survivors of violence: establish clear internal circuits, implement purple case management for proactive detection and internal referral of victims/survivors of violence, co-develop strategy for case management of social critical needs, mapping of local, regional and national actors providing services for social critical needs (especially complicated protection cases, unaccompanied minors and family reunification) and when relevant establish collaboration mechanisms Promote protection mindset within the projects during stays in projects by leading spaces for reflection, participating in CMT and project management meetings and lead participatory and interdisciplinary protection risk analysis (triangulating all available data) with involvement of FieldCo, HAM and CEHP manager When community level protection risks are identified, support/lead a more targeted analysis and propose/lead possible strategies to mitigate risks, ideally with participation of affected communities in the definition of possible actions When patterns are identified, work with Fieldco and HoM to design strategies of engagement and negotiation with those responsible for the violence with a view to mitigating risk Identify opportunities for meaningful collaboration with other actors (international and local) and integrate a network approach in the programmatic response ROLE´S SPECIFIC ELEMENTS At least 50% of time spent in Field Visits. Position based by default in employee's domicile. SELECTION CRITERIA University degree in Health, Social Sciences or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a manager in a humanitarian response in a conflict setting. Experience in either clinical care, MHPSS or social care for survivors of violence. Experience in quantitative and qualitative assessment methods, report writing, and knowledge of Logical Framework (Logframe) design will be considered an asset. Fluency in French is required. English will be considered an asset. Availability and willingness to be deployed to MSF projects in the Sahel region is required. Previous field experience with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) will be considered a strong asset.

CONDITIONS

Frequently travels to the missions (at least 50% of the time). Homebased position when not deployed. Full time position. For the position and if the candidate selected is authorized to reside and work in Spain, the salary will be at 34,989 € (Level 5 according to IRP2 as entry point). If the candidate selected is resident out of Spain, the compensation will be subject to the local pay scale applicable to that country. Practical working conditions while in the field are as per MSF-OCBA guidelines. Contract duration: until December 2026, with possible extension. Starting date: end of 2026/beginning of 2027.
