The primary responsibility involves overseeing the Antenna Massif within a biodiversity offset initiative, ensuring conservation efforts align with Amatory’s mitigation hierarchy and deliver “no net loss and net gain” in biodiversity. This requires fostering community support through awareness campaigns, environmental education, forest surveillance, and income-generating alternatives to reduce environmental pressure. The Technical Manager (Antenna Offset) will provide strategic leadership in sustainable landscape management, biodiversity protection, community financial independence, and cross-sectoral partnerships. The role also entails project administration, donor compliance, annual work planning, financial and technical reporting, and rigorous monitoring and evaluation against the project’s logical framework. Additionally, the position demands quality assurance to uphold high-impact results, budget oversight in coordination with finance teams, and direct supervision of project staff.
Key responsibilities include guiding operational management at the community level for the Antenna Offset site—integrated within the CAN protected area—while adhering to ARMS (Amatory Environment Monitoring System) standards. This encompasses promoting sustainable landscape approaches, forest and biodiversity conservation, community financial autonomy, and fostering intersectoral partnerships. Supervisory duties involve coordinating staff—including CI field teams, subcontractors, and contractors—to execute activities per the annual work plan, finalizing Terms of Reference (Tors), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and data collection templates. Reporting and communication responsibilities include ensuring the timely submission of high-quality donor reports and project-related materials. Financial oversight entails tracking project expenditures, monitoring burn rates, and facilitating adaptive management. The Technical Manager reports to the Country Director, supervises the Antenna Offset team in Tamarind, and collaborates closely with the Grants and Finance Manager. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed. The role demands flexibility, including occasional off-hours work, frequent travel to remote and forested areas, collaboration with local partners, adaptability to challenging conditions, and willingness to support broader team objectives beyond core responsibilities.
