About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Health Systems Manager to lead the planning, coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of health systems and services. The successful candidate will work with healthcare providers, government agencies, partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen service delivery, improve efficiency, and support sustainable health outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of health systems strengthening strategies and initiatives. Oversee health service delivery programs and ensure alignment with organizational and national health priorities. Assess health system performance and identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and monitor key performance indicators, targets, and health service outcomes. Coordinate with government institutions, healthcare facilities, development partners, and other stakeholders. Strengthen healthcare delivery systems, referral networks, and service integration. Lead initiatives aimed at improving quality of care, efficiency, accessibility, and patient outcomes . Support health workforce planning, capacity development, and performance management.
Formation / DiplĂ´mes
Oversee health information systems and promote effective use of data for decision-making. Develop budgets, work plans, implementation frameworks, and performance reports. Monitor program implementation, resource utilization, risks, and overall performance. Lead assessments, evaluations, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with relevant health policies, regulations, standards, and organizational procedures. Provide technical and strategic advice to senior management on health systems and service delivery. Mentor and supervise health systems and program teams.
Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Health Systems Management, Healthcare Management, Medicine, Nursing, or a related field . A Master’s degree in Health Systems Management, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related discipline is highly desirable. Minimum 7 years of progressive professional experience in health systems, healthcare management, public health, or health program implementation. Demonstrated experience managing complex health programs, healthcare facilities, or multi-stakeholder health initiatives. Strong understanding of health systems strengthening, healthcare governance, service delivery, health financing, and quality improvement . Experience working with government health agencies, healthcare providers, NGOs, development partners, or donor-funded programs. Strong knowledge of health information systems and data-driven performance management. Proven experience in strategic planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of Kenya's healthcare system and regulatory environment is an advantage.
