Our client, a leading FMCG company in Malawi, is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic business projects.
The successful candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project budgets and timelines, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure projects are delivered to the required quality standards. The role will work closely with Operations, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, milestones, and deliverables.
Lead projects from initiation through to successful completion.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure clear accountability for deliverables.
Monitor project progress against scope, cost, quality, and timelines.
Identify project risks, dependencies, and potential delays and implement corrective actions.
Prepare regular project status reports for senior management.
Manage project budgets and monitor expenditure against approved plans.
Coordinate procurement of goods and services required for projects.
Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, consultants, and other external partners.
Facilitate project meetings and ensure actions are followed through.
Ensure projects comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, and quality requirements.
Support change management and ensure affected teams are adequately prepared for new processes, systems, or operations.
Conduct project reviews and document lessons learned.
Develop appropriate project KPIs and track performance.
Escalate significant risks, cost overruns, or delays to senior management promptly.
Contribute to continuous improvement and operational efficiency across the business.

Qualifications and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field .
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience , with at least 2–3 years managing projects or teams.
Demonstrated experience managing projects involving multiple departments.
Strong budgeting, planning, reporting, and stakeholder-management skills.
Experience working with project-management methodologies and tools.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint .
Desirable:
PMP, PRINCE2, or another recognised project-management certification.
Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, retail, logistics, or supply chain .
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
Experience managing external contractors and suppliers.
