We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Surgeon to join our practice, responsible for diagnosing and treating dental conditions, performing surgical procedures, and ensuring optimal oral health for our patients. The ideal candidate will possess a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution, along with a valid state dental license. Additionally, at least three years of experience in general or specialized dental surgery is required, along with proficiency in advanced surgical techniques and a strong commitment to patient care. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive dental examinations, developing personalized treatment plans, performing oral surgeries including extractions and implants, and maintaining detailed patient records. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality dental care. Job Purpose Overseeing, sustaining, and growing dental services at University Hospital remains a core responsibility, requiring consistent management, operational efficiency, and strategic planning to meet evolving healthcare demands. Oversee a comprehensive range of critical duties and responsibilities to ensure seamless operational efficiency and adherence to established protocols. Execute strategic initiatives while maintaining meticulous attention to detail in all assigned tasks. Accurately and thoroughly documents all care delivered in the electronic health record, ensuring each entry fully captures the patient interaction, clinical status, and interventions performed. Completes referrals, data collection tools, and any other required records or documentation in a timely and precise manner. Diagnosing, treating, and ensuring long-term follow-up for dental implant cases. Consultants are engaged collaboratively to ensure appropriate referrals and comprehensive follow-up for specialized cases. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with Consultants to ensure the delivery of specialized dental healthcare services for patients. Oversee dental support staff to guarantee adherence to established techniques and protocols while keeping them informed about the latest industry practices and procedural updates.

• Establish and refine policies and procedures governing patient care to ensure adherence to best practice guidelines. Handle any additional duties as directed by the supervisor to support operational needs and align with organizational objectives. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is essential for this role. Candidates must possess three or more years of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++. Familiarity with agile methodologies and version control systems like Git is also necessary. Additionally, experience with cloud platforms including AWS or Azure is highly desirable. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are required. Holders of a Master’s degree in Dental Surgery are required for this position. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) qualification is required.
• Candidates must be registered and licensed by the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council. A valid, active professional license is required for this position.

Experience Minimum requirement includes three years of hands-on clinical experience within a dental practice. Serves in the position for a predetermined duration, subject to satisfactory performance and adherence to institutional policies. The role may be extended contingent upon ongoing evaluation and organizational needs. We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team on a four-year contractual basis. Must be at least 18 years of age to qualify for this position. Applicants must be no older than fifty-five (55) years of age as of the application date. Compensation will be provided commensurate with experience and qualifications, including a competitive benefit package.

• Develop and maintain PU6.2 processes to ensure accurate and efficient data analysis, reporting, and decision-making across all relevant departments. Monitor and validate data integrity, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, streamline workflows, and enhance data-driven insights. Lead initiatives to optimize PU6.2 systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies. Provide training and support to end-users, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data literacy within the team. Perform both routine and urgent dental procedures, including emergency interventions as well as non-emergency treatments. Counsel patients regarding oral hygiene practices, providing clear instructions and demonstrating proper techniques to ensure effective maintenance of dental health. Perform comprehensive examinations, diagnose various oral health conditions, and administer appropriate treatments for common dental issues. Educate patients about the importance of preventive dental care and maintaining optimal oral health, ensuring they understand best practices for preserving their dental hygiene and preventing future issues. Accurately and thoroughly documents all care delivered in the electronic health record, ensuring entries fully capture the details of patient interactions, clinical assessments, and interventions provided. Completes referrals, data collection tools, and other required documentation in accordance with established protocols. Diagnosing dental implant cases, performing treatments, and ensuring long-term follow-up care represent key responsibilities for this role. Consultants are engaged collaboratively to ensure appropriate referrals and meticulous follow-up for specialized cases. Collaborate closely with Consultants to manage the delivery of specialized dental health care services for patients. Direct oversight of dental auxiliary personnel is required to enforce adherence to established protocols and best practices, while also facilitating continuous education on emerging techniques and procedural updates.
• Establish and refine policies and procedures designed to enhance patient care, ensuring the formulation of optimal best practice guidelines. Execute all additional duties as designated by the supervisor. Earned a Master of Dental Surgery degree, or equivalent qualifications, from an accredited institution. Requires possession of a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree.
• Ensure compliance with license and registration requirements set forth by the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council. A currently active and valid professional license is required. A master’s or doctoral degree is required for this position.
