Area Support Manager This role is responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of support professionals to ensure exceptional service delivery across assigned regions. The position requires extensive experience in customer support leadership, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key duties include developing and implementing support strategies, analyzing performance metrics, identifying process improvements, and fostering collaboration between teams. Additionally, this role involves regular travel to regional offices, conducting training sessions, and ensuring alignment with company policies and standards. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in public administration, political science, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in governmental or administrative roles. Management, Business Operations, Human Resources, Transportation & Logistics, Admin & Office, and Social Services & Nonprofit roles encompass strategic oversight, operational efficiency, talent development, supply chain optimization, administrative support, and community-focused initiatives, respectively. These positions demand expertise in organizational leadership, regulatory compliance, workforce management, route planning, data administration, and program coordination to drive sustainable growth and impactful service delivery. Background: The Area Support Manager is responsible for delivering comprehensive support to relevant programs at the area level and sub-offices. This role oversees and assists Support units to ensure adherence to NRC and donor regulations. Additionally, the Support Manager leads all support-related initiatives within NRC South Sudan, North Area Office. The position guarantees that all support functions deliver high-quality, efficient services to facilitate effective program implementation. What we are looking for: The Area Support Manager is responsible for both strategic oversight and hands-on management of core support functions—including finance, human resources, logistics and procurement, administration, and ICT—across the area office and its sub-offices. In this role, the individual acts as a critical liaison between program implementation teams and support departments, ensuring that NRC’s projects are delivered to affected populations with the highest standards of quality, timeliness, and compliance. What you will do: Oversees general operational functions to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to established protocols. Manages day-to-day activities, maintains records, and coordinates with relevant stakeholders to support organizational objectives. Duties include monitoring performance metrics, addressing workflow challenges, and implementing process improvements as needed. Maintains compliance with company policies and regulatory standards while fostering a collaborative work environment. You will oversee a team of Finance, HR & Admin, Logistics, and ICT staff, providing direct line management. This entails leading the performance management process, establishing clear objectives that align with the department’s strategy and priorities, and actively monitoring progress while offering necessary support for goal attainment. Ensure strict adherence to Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) policies, guidance, and handbooks, as well as all donor and auditor requirements, at all times. Facilitate the strategic contribution of the Area Office support functions to the formulation of the Country Strategy and Plan of Action. Contribute expertise to enhance operational support during the formulation of proposals, ensuring seamless alignment between operational support initiatives and program strategies. Duties involve guaranteeing high-quality support throughout the execution of projects. Facilitate the development and oversight of the Master Budget, as well as area-level budgets and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) initiatives, encompassing the evaluation and monitoring of costs alongside resource allocation requirements. Strategically spearheads the advancement of organizational frameworks at the Area level, enhancing technical systems, bolstering human resource capabilities, and optimizing workforce allocation. Responsible for creating and refining area-specific technical standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and specialized tools to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency. Organizes and oversees all learning initiatives associated with program support, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering continuous development.

  • Tasked with enhancing the technical skills and capabilities of support staff through targeted training and development initiatives. We design and implement comprehensive, needs-driven programs, incorporating both cash-based interventions and market-based solutions to address diverse challenges effectively. The position requires strict adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures, with a primary responsibility for ensuring compliance with the organization’s established policies and procedures. Oversee and execute a broad range of duties to ensure operational excellence, including managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and maintaining compliance with established protocols. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity while fostering a collaborative work environment. Monitor progress through regular assessments, address any deviations from targets, and provide actionable feedback to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, liaise with stakeholders to align objectives, resolve conflicts, and ensure seamless communication across departments. Provide strategic leadership and direct oversight to the Finance, Human Resources & Administration, Logistics, ICT, and Support Services teams, fostering effective performance management, staff development, coaching, and accountability. Enhance operational planning and coordination by ensuring alignment of support functions with program priorities, proactively identifying operational risks, and guaranteeing operational readiness for both project implementation and emergency response. Responsibilities include managing and overseeing the Area Office’s financial operations, with a focus on budget planning, expenditure tracking, financial forecasting, and cost control measures. Additionally, the role involves continuous monitoring of cash flow, identifying and mitigating financial risks, and promptly implementing corrective actions to ensure fiscal stability and compliance. Oversee the creation, tracking, and evaluation of the Area Office Master Budget to ensure resources are allocated efficiently and cost-effectiveness is maximized. Championing staff care and wellbeing, this role drives comprehensive initiatives that prioritize employee welfare, engagement, occupational health and safety, psychosocial support, and the cultivation of a positive organizational culture. Provide high-level strategic direction for fleet and transport operations, guaranteeing vehicles, drivers, fuel consumption, maintenance schedules, utilization, and overall fleet performance are managed with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include directing office and facilities management to guarantee that all NRC offices, staff housing, storage facilities, warehouses, and other operational spaces are secure, fully operational, well-maintained, and fully compliant with NRC standards and established systems. Responsibilities include overseeing the proper management and accountability of NRC assets, with duties spanning strategic planning, inventory oversight, asset registration, maintenance scheduling, real-time tracking, regulated disposal, and adherence to established organizational policies. Provide strategic leadership to oversee procurement, logistics, warehousing, and supply chain operations, guaranteeing the prompt acquisition and delivery of goods and services while adhering to NRC protocols and donor specifications.

ICT systems and infrastructure must be maintained to fully align with program and operational requirements, encompassing robust data protection measures, cybersecurity protocols, reliable communication systems, and responsive user support. Spearhead operational risk management initiatives by establishing and maintaining robust internal controls, implementing effective fraud prevention measures, and proactively addressing operational, financial, legal, and reputational risks to safeguard organizational integrity.
