Carnegie Mellon University Africa (CMU-Africa), based in Kigali, Rwanda, serves as the university’s strategic hub on the continent. Through the Center for Inclusive Digital Transformation of Africa (The Center) and the African Engineering and Technology Network (AFROTC), CMU-Africa partners with leading universities, governments, industries, and key stakeholders to enhance engineering education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship across Africa.

CMU-Africa is now seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and results-driven Program Manager to oversee the operational execution of The Center’s Teaching & Learning portfolio. This role will involve coordinating a diverse range of initiatives to ensure timely, high-impact delivery in alignment with program goals. The ideal candidate will be a disciplined, systems-focused professional capable of managing multiple workstreams, fostering cross-institutional collaboration, and maintaining rigorous operational oversight in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. The Program Manager will work closely with faculty, academic leaders, program teams, partner institutions, and operational colleagues to ensure seamless coordination, rigorous monitoring, and sustained impact of Teaching & Learning activities. The successful candidate will combine strong program management expertise with exceptional organizational and relationship-building skills, a dedication to educational excellence, and a deep commitment to expanding access to high-quality engineering and technology education throughout Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Associate Director of Teaching & Learning to develop and implement strategic initiatives, including coordinated action plans, annual work plans, budgets, timelines, and operational activities across the Teaching & Learning portfolio.

Partner with program leads to ensure the effective day-to-day execution of initiatives, guaranteeing timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and alignment with program objectives and donor requirements.

Coordinate faculty development, teaching innovation, and professional learning programs.
