Carnegie Mellon University Africa (CMU-Africa), based in Kigali, Rwanda, serves as the university’s strategic hub on the continent. Since its establishment in 2011, CMU-Africa has been at the forefront of advancing engineering, technology, research, and innovation through world-class graduate education, applied research, and strategic collaborations. Through the Center for Inclusive Digital Transformation of Africa (The Center) and the African Engineering and Technology Network (AFROTC), CMU-Africa partners with leading universities, governments, industries, and key stakeholders to enhance engineering education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship across Africa.

CMU-Africa is now seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and results-driven Program Manager to oversee the operational execution of The Center’s Teaching & Learning portfolio. This role will involve coordinating a diverse range of initiatives to ensure timely, high-impact delivery in alignment with program goals. The ideal candidate will be a disciplined, systems-focused professional capable of managing multiple workstreams, fostering cross-institutional collaboration, and maintaining rigorous operational oversight in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. The Program Manager will work closely with faculty, academic leaders, program teams, partner institutions, and operational colleagues to ensure seamless coordination, rigorous monitoring, and sustained impact of Teaching & Learning activities. The successful candidate will combine strong program management expertise with exceptional organizational and relationship-building skills, a dedication to educational excellence, and a deep commitment to expanding access to high-quality engineering and technology education throughout Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Associate Director of Teaching & Learning to develop and implement strategic initiatives, including coordinated action plans, annual work plans, budgets, timelines, and operational activities across the Teaching & Learning portfolio.

Partner with program leads to ensure the effective day-to-day execution of initiatives, guaranteeing timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and alignment with program objectives and donor requirements.

Coordinate faculty development, teaching innovation, and professional learning programs.
