The Research Scientist will join Innovations for Poverty Action’s Applied Research & Methods (ARM) team, which specializes in designing and overseeing technical research for IPA’s global initiatives, with an emphasis on randomized controlled trials (RCTs), quasi-experimental impact evaluations, and survey methodology. In this capacity, the Research Scientist will collaborate closely with IPA’s country offices and advisory units to support monitoring, evaluation, and learning efforts. This position is dedicated to health-focused research, where the incumbent will design and lead coverage surveys and program audits for a major infectious disease prevention initiative in Sub-Saharan Africa. The role integrates technical survey design, health systems expertise, and field research management to produce robust, timely evidence for program partners and funders. The Research Scientist will provide intellectual leadership in coverage surveys, data audits, and impact evaluations, with a primary focus on malaria prevention interventions, as well as broader health policies and programs across Sub-Saharan Africa. Additionally, the role involves developing, fundraising for, and executing a research agenda centered on high-impact health interventions and strategies aimed at improving the lives of populations in low- and middle-income countries.
