We are seeking a skilled Video Editor to join our Remora, Kigali-based team in a full-time, on-site capacity, with a primary focus on long-form, high-production-value content. Your responsibilities will involve refining raw footage, interviews, narration, B-roll, archival material, music, graphics, and visual assets to deliver refined, compelling final productions. This role demands more than technical editing—it requires a deep grasp of narrative flow, pacing, rhythm, audio, color theory, visual continuity, and audience retention, enabling you to elevate rough edits into refined, impactful stories. Key responsibilities include transforming raw footage into cohesive sequences, constructing robust narrative frameworks from interviews, narration, B-roll, archival content, and additional materials, and maintaining engaging pacing across extended projects. You will make deliberate choices about content selection, retention, rearrangement, and emphasis, while leveraging B-roll strategically to enhance storytelling rather than merely bridging gaps. In post-production, you will apply seamless transitions, graphics, effects, color correction, and grading while ensuring visual uniformity across diverse footage sources. Integrating motion graphics and other visual components into the edit will be essential, as will prepare technically precise final exports tailored to varying delivery specifications. Audio proficiency will be critical, as you clean and balance dialogue, incorporate music, ambience, and sound effects, and utilize audio to enhance pacing, emotional resonance, and continuity. The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in video editing using Cap Cut, along with a strong portfolio showcasing creative storytelling and technical expertise. Responsibilities include editing high-quality videos for social media platforms, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines, and meeting project deadlines efficiently. Familiarity with video effects, transitions, and color correction is essential, as is the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
