Responsabilités
- Role Purpose This role involves executing moderately complex projects funded by the British Council or other sources, ensuring their successful delivery from inception to completion. Key responsibilities include managing project or contract plans, engaging with clients and internal stakeholders, meeting reporting obligations, and adhering to compliance standards. Role Accountabilities The position requires leading project and program management through strategic stakeholder engagement, relationship-building, and robust governance. Core duties encompass maintaining communication with internal and external partners, overseeing suppliers and contractors, ensuring contractual compliance, and guiding small teams to achieve project milestones. Additionally, the role demands the development of strong internal networks, fostering collaboration to drive program success, and fulfilling significant commercial, financial, and project management responsibilities—including financial policy compliance, planning, reporting, expenditure monitoring, and addressing discrepancies. The individual will oversee project planning, procurement, contracting, compliance monitoring, risk management, data administration, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation activities, ensuring all project documentation meets organizational and funder requirements. Leveraging sector expertise, the role contributes to high-quality program design and delivery by integrating knowledge of local contexts, education systems, and state frameworks. Responsibilities also include sharing research and best practices, maintaining current stakeholder intelligence, and supporting strategic development initiatives. A steadfast commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) is essential, encompassing the promotion of an inclusive and anti-racist culture, supporting employee wellbeing, addressing personal biases, and embedding British Council’s EDI principles into daily operations and decision-making. This role reports to the Head of English & School Education and includes line management responsibilities for a Project Officer.
