Eugene is addressing the credit shortage faced by small businesses in Africa by empowering informal entrepreneurs to acquire income-generating assets, establish a traceable digital credit history, and unlock future expansion prospects through its innovative digital platform. The platform offers a range of benefits, including discounts, smartphones, e-commerce access, and flexible credit lines on demand. With a portfolio of over 70,000 clients and a dedicated workforce operating across multiple branches in Uganda and Kenya, Eugene has cemented its position as a key player in the region’s financial ecosystem. Manage and oversee customer incidents, such as accidents, illnesses, theft, and asset impoundment, while providing support for insurance claims, asset recovery, and associated procedures. Maintain robust customer relationships, proactively assess evolving customer needs, collect feedback, enhance customer retention efforts, and uncover opportunities to introduce additional products and services. Maintain precise and current customer records, meticulously documenting all customer interactions and agreements within the CRM and other approved systems while ensuring adherence to Eugene’s credit, documentation, and transparency policies. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics, or equivalent practical experience. Proven experience in software development, with expertise in programming languages like Python, Java, or C++. Familiarity with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and agile methodologies is essential. Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset are required. Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles is necessary. Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and proficiency in writing clean, maintainable code are also required. Applicants must possess qualifications equivalent to A’ Level or higher. Additionally, proficiency in documentation, reporting, and maintaining detailed records of recovery activities is necessary.   • Escalation & Collaboration: Partner with Branch Teams, Head Office Recovery, Legal, and other relevant internal and external stakeholders to streamline recovery initiatives, manage escalations, and resolve intricate cases efficiently. Responsibilities include assessing customer payment history and recovery progress to provide strategic recommendations regarding the management of underperforming leases or potential terminations, ensuring full alignment with Eugene’s established policies and guidelines. Prepare comprehensive and precise reports detailing recovery cases, payment commitments, asset recovery efforts, and overall portfolio performance in a timely manner. Provide assistance to court and legal proceedings as necessary, which may involve attending hearings and preparing or organizing relevant documentation and clerical tasks as instructed by the supervisor or designated legal counsel.
