We are looking for : (01) HR GENERALIST In douala Missions / Responsibilities / Activities
The HR Generalist at The Bridge International School manages daily HR activities, focusing on payroll, personnel administration, training, performance management, and employee relations. This role ensures accurate and confidential HR administration while supporting management to maintain a positive work environment. The HR Generalist also ensures compliance with labor regulations, internal policies, and the school's standards and values. A. Payroll & Compensation Administration Collect, verify and consolidate monthly payroll inputs, including attendance, absences, overtime, allowances, bonuses, deductions and other variable elements. Prepare and process monthly payroll accurately and within established deadlines. Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure strict confidentiality of salary information. Monitor employee benefits, insurance coverage and other staff entitlements. Prepare periodic payroll and personnel cost reports for Management. B. Personnel Administration Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date personnel files for all employees. Prepare employment contracts, amendments, administrative letters, certificates etc... Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes. Manage attendance, absenteeism, lateness, annual leave and other employee absences. Prepare and follow up administrative procedures relating to disciplinary matters. Ensure the proper application of HR policies, procedures and internal regulations. C. Training & Staff Development Identify training and development needs in collaboration with Heads of Departments and School Management. Prepare and coordinate the annual staff training plan. Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of training programmes. Support professional development initiatives aimed at strengthening employee competencies and performance. D. Performance Management Coordinate the School's employee performance appraisal process. Ensure that performance objectives are clearly defined and communicated. Support managers and Heads of Departments in conducting fair and effective performance reviews. Monitor appraisal deadlines and ensure completion of employee evaluations. Identify performance gaps and recommend appropriate development or improvement plans. E. Employee Relations & HR Compliance Provide first-level HR support and guidance to employees and managers. Participate in the management of employee grievances, disciplinary matters and workplace conflicts. Maintain professional relationships with relevant labour and social security authorities. Prepare and follow up required employee documentation with CNPS, Labour Inspection etc... Ensure strict confidentiality when handling employee and institutional information. HR Reporting & HRIS Maintain accurate HR databases and employee information. Prepare weekly and monthly HR reports and dashboards. Monitor key HR indicators, including headcount, attendance, absenteeism, turnover, payroll costs, training completion and performance appraisal completion. Provide reliable HR data to Management to support decision-making. Job Requirements
Profile Minimum Bachelor's Degree (Bac+3/4) in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Labour Law, Management, Psychology, Sociology or a related field. Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in an HR Generalist, HR Officer or HR Administration position. Demonstrated practical experience in payroll, personnel administration, training and performance management. Previous experience within a school, university, international educational institution or education sector would be a strong advantage. Additional professional certification in Human Resources Management, Payroll or Labour Law would be an advantage. Language Requirement Professional proficiency in English is mandatory. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and prepare professional HR correspondence and documentation in English. Good command of French would be an additional advantage. Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of payroll administration. Sound knowledge of personnel administration. Good knowledge of labour law and employment regulations. Understanding of CNPS and labour administration procedures. Good knowledge of training and competency development processes. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Good knowledge of HRIS/payroll software. Strong HR reporting and analytical skills.
