Role: Associate Field Manager (AFM) The Associate Field Manager will serve as a pivotal leader in delivering Give Directly’s gold-standard service to donors and recipients. This role involves overseeing Field Officers (FOS), with responsibilities spanning daily team coordination, performance tracking, and achieving operational targets. Key duties include coaching FOS, addressing performance gaps, mitigating risks, and identifying process improvements. As the primary on-the-ground liaison for the Field Manager (FM) and Program Manager (PM), the AFM will synthesize field updates, compile analytical reports, and occasionally deputize for other AFM’s. The position demands exceptional personnel management, organizational acumen, analytical precision, and strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a commitment to enhancing both team and individual productivity and service quality. Responsibilities: Field Management & Quality Assurance Coordinate village survey teams to optimize efficiency and productivity. Monitor FO performance and service quality through routine reviews, performance discussions with AFM’s and FMs, and corrective action when metrics decline. Proactively flag critical risks—such as logistical hurdles, political instability, or recipient resistance—to senior leadership, and meet monthly with the FM to align on adjustments. Over time, empower the FM by building team capacity and delegating responsibilities to reduce dependency on senior oversight. Strategic Vision & Problem-Solving Anticipate operational risks—including research partnerships or pilot delays—and develop mitigation strategies. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance enrollment and recipient experiences. Exercise independent judgment in addressing field challenges and escalate recurring issues to the FM.
