Job Summary: The Business Development – Institutional Funding Coordinator is responsible for providing technical coordination, managing the funding pipeline, and leading strategic donor engagement efforts to enhance Oxfam’s standing with institutional funders throughout the Southern Africa (SAF) Cluster. This position ensures that interactions with bilateral and multilateral donors, development finance institutions, UN agencies, and other key institutional partners are well-coordinated, evidence-driven, and aligned with organizational priorities and programmatic goals. The role serves as a pivotal function in establishing and overseeing a regional institutional funding pipeline, aiding donor positioning, facilitating proposal development, and strengthening consortium and partnership frameworks. Collaboration with program, humanitarian, and influencing teams is essential to identify emerging funding prospects, support competitive funding proposals, and ensure that institutional engagement drives program impact and contributes to long-term financial sustainability. Furthermore, the position oversees key stakeholders involved in securing institutional funding and fostering donor relationships throughout the Cluster, with a focus on seamless coordination, enhanced institutional capabilities, and the successful execution of objectives. EXPERIENCE

, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES Essential Master’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, or Public Policy Educational qualifications in Economics, Development Finance, or related fields are required. With a minimum of five years of professional experience in institutional fundraising, grant acquisition, business development, or donor relations, including at least two to three years in a coordination or leadership capacity, the ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation of expertise to this role.
