Sales Growth Officer – Microfinance Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic Sales Growth Officer to lead our microfinance expansion initiatives, driving client acquisition and portfolio growth. The role involves designing and executing targeted sales strategies to penetrate untapped markets, with a sharp focus on underserved communities. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of three years of progressive experience in sales, preferably within the microfinance or financial services sector. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in CRM systems, and exceptional communication abilities are essential to succeed in this role. Fluency in both English and a relevant local language is preferred. Position Overview The Sales Growth Officer is responsible for accelerating the expansion of the loan portfolio by providing leadership, training, and management to a high-performing team of field sales agents. This position emphasizes extending market coverage, upholding rigorous standards for loan acquisition quality, and fostering strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Management To build and maintain a high-performing sales team, hire, integrate, and provide ongoing development for both commission-based and salaried field sales agents. Establish and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets at both the individual agent and team levels. Regular field visits are conducted with agents to assess performance, deliver targeted coaching, and verify adherence to established lending policies. Drive team performance by implementing motivational strategies such as performance-based incentives, public recognition, and targeted coaching to foster a high-achieving culture. Sales & Portfolio Growth Formulate and implement targeted field sales strategies to secure new microfinance clients and groups. Track and analyze critical performance indicators such as disbursement volumes, expansion of the active client base, and cross-selling objectives. To uncover untapped market segments, emerging business clusters, and strategic community networks, driving the expansion of the company’s presence and influence. Risk Management & Quality Compliance This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks to ensure operational integrity and regulatory adherence. Key duties include developing and implementing risk management frameworks, conducting thorough quality audits, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex regulations to maintain high-quality standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to integrate risk mitigation strategies and quality assurance measures across all business operations. Conduct comprehensive preliminary assessments of borrowers by sales agents to uphold minimal non-performing loan (NPL) levels. We will partner with the credit and risk teams to optimize the loan application, approval, and disbursement workflows. Provide support in the initial recovery phase and subsequent follow-up of delinquent accounts overseen by the sales team. Reporting & Administration Compile comprehensive weekly and monthly sales performance reports to be presented to senior management. Analyze market trends, evaluate competitor products, and assess customer feedback to propose strategic product modifications. Job Requirements Experience: We seek candidates with a minimum of three to five years of sales experience, preferably in microfinance or insurance, and at least one to two years in a supervisory or team lead capacity. Education: A bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant discipline, such as Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, is required. Skills: Exceptional leadership abilities, proficiency in field coaching, analytical expertise with numerical data, outstanding communication skills, and adept negotiation capabilities are essential. Knowledge: Proven expertise in microfinance products, field-based group lending methodologies, and the regulatory frameworks of the regions where services are delivered. Attributes: Possesses strong emotional intelligence, a goal-oriented approach, and openness to frequent travel for on-site responsibilities.
