Performance Metrics Wholesale Target Mastery: Balancing demanding quarterly product volume targets while mitigating risks such as insufficient inventory, which may cede valuable shelf space to rivals, or excess stock that strains resources. The 100x100x100 Standard: To achieve complete coverage of agreed bulk stock lines across 100% of designated wholesale and retail outlets consistently. Rigorous Reporting Lifecycle: The role involves creating and maintaining precise Weekly Sales Analyses, biweekly Sales Trackers (segmented by customer and SKU), as well as Monthly Reports for the Sales and Operations Supervisor. Cultural Alignment Agile & Bold: Dynamic engagement across Lusaka’s most bustling commercial hubs, enabling rapid, data-informed decisions regarding product procurement tailored to regional wholesale purchasing trends. Connected & Dynamic: Serving as a dependable intermediary, you will facilitate seamless communication and coordination among internal Credit Control, Warehouse Logistics, and key high-volume traders. Continuous Improvement Mindset: By implementing a rigorous cycle of feedback and corrective measures, we aim to enhance root efficiency, promptly address trader complaints, and safeguard gross margins. What Your Role Will Entail Develop and execute strategic initiatives to maximize bulk sales performance while optimizing market routing for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. You will verify real-time inventory levels in the warehouse, develop optimized call routes covering key wholesale territories, and finalize high-value orders. Full responsibility includes spearheading new product introductions and ensuring market-leading wholesale coverage. Oversee In-Market Merchandising You will provide leadership, direction, and performance evaluations to on-site merchandisers operating in high-traffic retail environments. Additionally, you will verify that shelf and floor displays meet corporate standards of excellence, pricing schemes adhere to established guidelines, and any necessary corrective measures are implemented promptly. Ensure precision in Quality Control & Credit Support operations, maintaining rigorous standards and providing meticulous oversight to uphold financial integrity and compliance. Responsible for verifying accuracy, assessing risks, and supporting credit-related processes with a keen eye for detail. Requires a strong background in financial audits, regulatory adherence, and data validation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline procedures, mitigate discrepancies, and enhance operational efficiency. Proficient in analytical tools, reporting systems, and industry-specific software to deliver timely and accurate insights. You will conduct inspections of quarantined stock at high-turnover outlets, evaluating packaging integrity and assessing potential water damage, while negotiating equitable claims. Given the critical role of cash flow, you will coordinate with Credit Control to personally visit and resolve overdue debtor accounts before approving new orders. Market Intelligence and Trader Facilitation You will perform in-person interviews with wholesale buyers, key traders, and end-users to gather insights on evolving market trends. Additionally, you will employ collaborative conflict resolution strategies to promptly address and resolve customer complaints as well as supply-chain inefficiencies. Credentials & Expertise Academic Qualifications Minimum Requirement: A-Level qualifications supplemented by a specialized diploma in Sales & Marketing. Added Advantage: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a comparable discipline is required. Mandatory License: Valid Driver’s License. Experience & Toolkits Minimum of 3 years Seasoned professional with proven expertise in direct sales within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. Proven, specialized experience In a fast-paced wholesale environment characterized by high transaction volumes, the role requires adherence to operational excellence and efficiency standards. Possesses extensive commercial knowledge of key Lusaka trading hubs—including Kampala, Chaise, Soweto, and Freedom Way—and demonstrates a keen understanding of local consumer purchasing patterns. Accomplished expertise in high-volume sales strategies, demand forecasting, and receivables management.
