Kai Bar and Restaurant is an upcoming, high-end bar and restaurant located in Ntinda, Minister’s Village. On behalf of Kai Bar & Restaurant, we are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Cashier to join its team. This role is responsible for processing guest transactions accurately, safeguarding company funds, maintaining financial records, and ensuring a smooth and professional payment experience for all guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong numerical skills, integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Key Responsibilities Accurately process cash, card, mobile money, and other customer transactions using approved systems. Ensure all sales transactions are correctly recorded, receipted, and reconciled. Balance cash drawers and prepare daily cash-up reports at the end of each shift. Maintain adequate cash float levels to facilitate smooth operations throughout service hours. Operate and monitor Point of Sale (POS) systems, card payment terminals, and related cashiering equipment. Promptly report equipment faults, system failures, or payment processing issues to management. Safeguard cash, financial records, receipt books, payment devices, and all equipment assigned to the cashier station. Support daily reconciliation processes and assist with financial reporting requirements as directed. Identify and immediately report any discrepancies, shortages, overages, or suspected irregularities. Ensure backup transaction processes and manual receipt systems are available during network or system outages. Maintain a clean, organised, and professional cashier workstation at all times. Provide courteous, efficient, and professional customer service while handling guest payments and inquiries. Comply with all financial controls, cash-handling procedures, and company policies. Support audits, stock counts, and other financial verification exercises when required. Requirements Diploma or relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Previous experience in cashiering, cash handling, hospitality, retail, or finance-related roles is preferred. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail. Good understanding of cash-handling procedures and financial controls. Experience using POS systems, electronic payment platforms, and financial record-keeping systems. Strong organisational and time-management skills. High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. Professional appearance and a positive, service-oriented attitude. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Sharing is Caring!
