Responsible for overseeing the Department of Laboratory operations to facilitate student education and advance scientific diagnostic procedures, analyses, and research initiatives. Oversee and execute a broad spectrum of essential tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Responsibilities include managing key processes, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, and maintaining compliance with established protocols. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, the position requires effective communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, provide clear guidance, and foster collaborative problem-solving. This role is responsible for preparing and submitting detailed budget proposals for procuring essential laboratory resources, such as equipment, small tools, reagents, chemicals, and disposable supplies, ensuring all specifications align with operational and scientific needs. Organizes, coordinates, and delegates tasks to laboratory personnel to ensure efficient completion of scientific assignments. Coordinates the instruction and supervision of students in performing laboratory experiments, analyzing specimens, and conducting testing procedures as guided.

• Develops and implements, pending authorization, the guidelines for establishing departmental laboratories, such as selecting equipment, preparing tissues or specimens, and organizing necessary chemicals and reagents to support teaching and research initiatives. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the implementation of laboratory quality control and safety standards, which encompasses developing and maintaining relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Initiates necessary repairs for malfunctioning equipment as well as oversees and records all preventative maintenance activities to ensure optimal operational performance. Ensures the legitimacy and proper calibration of laboratory supplies and equipment, verifying their accuracy and compliance with established standards. Overseeing laboratory cleanliness and ensuring the proper disposal of laboratory waste falls within the scope of this role. Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the inventory of laboratory chemicals, equipment, and related supplies to ensure adequate availability and proper organization. Supervises and fosters the ongoing professional growth of junior laboratory personnel.
• Collaborates with the Procurement and Disposal Unit, regulatory bodies, and suppliers to uphold the quality standards of laboratory supplies.
