Rajbharti Supermarkets Limited, a reputable retail company, is seeking a highly responsible and experienced Supermarket Operations Supervisor to oversee operations across its three branches in Kitwe. This is a full-time position that requires a candidate with strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards in sales, stock control, cash management, customer service, cleanliness, staff discipline, and overall store performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections at all three branches. Supervise branch managers, cashiers, and general store staff. Monitor daily and weekly sales performance. Review and verify reports submitted by branch managers. Prepare a detailed weekly report for the General Manager. Monitor stock levels and ensure fast-moving products are available. Investigate stock shortages, damaged goods, expired products, and unexplained losses. Supervise regular stock counts. Monitor cash reconciliation, till shortages, and irregular transactions. Ensure proper staff attendance, punctuality, discipline, and productivity. Ensure all stores are clean, organised, and properly maintained. Confirm that alarms, refrigerators, freezers, lights, and other equipment are properly operated. Monitor electricity units, operating expenses, and utility usage. Ensure customer complaints are handled professionally. Report suspected theft, fraud, negligence, or misconduct immediately. Follow up on outstanding operational issues until they are resolved. Assist with staff training, performance reviews, and disciplinary matters.
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent. A diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Retail Management, Accounting, Sales, Marketing, or a related field will be an added advantage. At least two years of experience in supermarket, retail, wholesale, or store operations. Previous experience as a supervisor, store manager, branch manager, or team leader. Good knowledge of stock control, cash reconciliation, and retail operations.
Required Skills:
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to prepare clear and accurate written reports. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to supervise multiple branches with limited supervision. High levels of honesty, discipline, confidentiality, and accountability. Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays when required.
