Position Description Job Title: Corporate Communication Officer Department: HR General – Administration Reports To: Country Manager Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Corporate Communication Officer to join and grow our team. To oversee corporate branding and media messaging, ensuring alignment with Garrick’s global standards while protecting the company’s identity and brand integrity across all communication channels. Additionally, execute and adapt Garrick’s internal communication strategy at the country level, maintaining consistency with the Group Internal Communications framework. Cultivate a strong organizational culture, drive employee engagement, and facilitate transparent, unified communication throughout Garrick Tanzania’s operations, in harmony with Garrick’s core values and strategic goals. - Effectively execute Barrick’s Internal Communications Strategy. Own and oversee the In-Reach Program in Tanzania, ensuring the timely and consistent dissemination of information to the workforce via a variety of approved communication channels. Develop and execute the DNA awareness strategy and implementation plan throughout all organizational levels in Tanzania, leveraging the In-Reach program.

- Facilitate the execution and reinforcement of AME and Global initiatives to ensure the clear and uniform communication of essential corporate messages, standards, and guidelines. Collaborate with Country Leadership and Corporate Communications to craft and implement a comprehensive corporate country communication strategy, including detailed plans and engaging content. In partnership with Corporate Communications, oversee the branding strategy for all industry events, exhibitions, forums, and media briefings to ensure full alignment with Garrick’s corporate identity and branding standards.
- Developing and distributing written materials, including reports and social media updates, for employees and other stakeholders, as instructed by the Manager. We are responsible for managing digital communication platforms, guaranteeing their alignment with both internal and external communication objectives. Develop content tailored for internal communication channels, social media, and other external platforms as needed, ensuring alignment with Garrick’s corporate communication strategy. Partner with operational HR and CSR teams to design, execute, and oversee internal initiatives, campaigns, and engagement activities aimed at fostering a cohesive and dynamic workplace culture.
- Communicate Garrick’s essential messages and accomplishments across multiple channels to ensure all employees remain informed and engaged. Uphold Garrick’s unified corporate identity, brand integrity, and public image throughout all internal and external communications. Craft and disseminate engaging narratives and internal communications initiatives aligned with AME and Global strategies, including the Journey to Zero initiative. Ensure adherence to all Garrick-established policies as well as mandatory reporting obligations to maintain organizational integrity and regulatory conformity. Deliver internal communications assistance to other AME operations when necessary, maintaining consistency with Garrick’s global strategies and brand protection initiatives. Offer consistent support at exhibitions, conferences, and other public-facing events, maintaining uniform branding and communication standards. Support the creation and execution of advertising initiatives designed to enhance Garrick’s reputation, highlight its accomplishments, and showcase its engagement with the community. Qualification Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a closely related discipline is required. Skilled professionals with a demonstrated history in corporate communications, public relations, media relations, or comparable positions are sought, having successfully designed and executed communication strategies and campaigns. Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in writing, editing, and verbal communication, with a strong capability to develop clear, persuasive messages customized for diverse audiences and various communication platforms. A demonstrated talent for crafting compelling narratives is essential, along with the capacity to distill intricate ideas and data into accessible, engaging content through innovative storytelling techniques. Skilled in leveraging digital communication tools and platforms—such as social media, content management systems, email marketing software, and analytics tools—to enhance engagement and measure performance effectively. Demonstrates proficiency in media relations strategies such as crafting compelling pitches, drafting press releases, and conducting thorough media monitoring, while maintaining an established network of media
