Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Offshore Wind Farm Structural Integrity Engineer to join our pioneering team in Kibungo, Rwanda. This critical role involves ensuring the structural reliability, safety, and longevity of offshore wind turbine foundations and support structures in challenging marine environments. The successful candidate will apply advanced engineering principles to monitor, assess, and optimize the structural performance of offshore wind assets throughout their lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive structural integrity management systems for offshore wind farm foundations and support structures Conduct advanced structural analysis including fatigue assessment, ultimate limit state analysis, and accidental limit state evaluation Monitor structural performance through sensor data interpretation, regular inspections, and computational modeling Design and optimize inspection, maintenance, and repair strategies for offshore structures Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for structural failures in marine environments Coordinate with certification bodies and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with international standards Analyze environmental loading conditions including wave, wind, and current effects on offshore structures Develop technical specifications for structural components and oversee quality assurance during fabrication and installation Create detailed technical reports and present findings to stakeholders including project teams and senior management Stay current with industry developments, new materials, and emerging technologies in offshore structural engineering Required Skills Expert knowledge of structural engineering principles applied to offshore environments Proficiency with industry-standard software including SESAM, SACS, or similar offshore structural analysis tools Strong understanding of marine corrosion mechanisms and protective coating systems Experience with structural health monitoring systems and data interpretation Knowledge of international standards including DNV, ISO, and API regulations for offshore structures Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex engineering challenges Project management skills with ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and contractors Strong technical writing and communication skills for reports and presentations Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams across different cultural contexts Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental protection in all engineering activities Education Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. A PhD in a relevant discipline would be considered a strong advantage. Professional engineering certification or chartered engineer status is highly desirable. Additional certifications in offshore structural engineering, corrosion protection, or risk management would enhance an application. Continuous professional development in emerging areas of marine renewable energy technology is expected. Experience A minimum of five years of professional experience in offshore structural engineering is required, with specific experience in offshore wind farm projects strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience with structural integrity management systems for marine structures.
