About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Community Development Manager to lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community development initiatives that create sustainable social and economic impact. The successful candidate will build strong partnerships with communities, government agencies, donors, and other stakeholders while ensuring projects are delivered effectively, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement community development strategies aligned with the organization's mission and objectives. Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of community-based projects and programs. Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local authorities, government agencies, NGOs, donors, and other stakeholders. Conduct community needs assessments and identify opportunities for sustainable development initiatives. Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure efficient implementation. Supervise and mentor community development officers and project teams. Prepare project proposals, donor reports, progress reports, and impact assessments. Monitor project performance using key performance indicators and recommend improvements. Promote community participation, inclusion, and stakeholder engagement throughout project implementation.
Ensure compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies, and relevant legal and regulatory frameworks. Identify funding opportunities and support grant proposal development. Represent the organization at community forums, stakeholder meetings, and development networks. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Sociology, Project Management, or a related field. A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is an added advantage. Minimum of 7 years' experience in community development, NGO program management, or social development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role . Demonstrated experience managing donor-funded projects and engaging diverse stakeholders. Strong understanding of project management, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and community mobilization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management or M&E tools is an added advantage.
