Job Overview The Construction Project Controls Engineer will join the Project Management Office to ensure that large‑scale construction projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, cost forecasts, and performance metrics, providing actionable insights to project managers and senior leadership. Key Responsibilities Develop, update, and monitor detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project. Prepare cost estimates, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with design, procurement, and construction teams to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies. Generate regular performance reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for stakeholders. Conduct earned value management (EVM) assessments to evaluate schedule and cost performance. Support change order evaluation and impact analysis on schedule and budget. Ensure compliance with corporate project control standards and local regulatory requirements. Participate in project meetings, providing data‑driven recommendations to drive decision‑making. Required Skills Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project). Strong analytical skills with experience in earned value management. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Knowledge of construction contracts, budgeting, and cost control principles. Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documents. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex data analysis. Detail‑oriented mindset with strong problem‑solving capabilities. Fluency in English; knowledge of Kinyarwanda is an advantage. Education A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or a recognized Project Controls qualification are highly desirable. Experience Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in project controls for large construction or infrastructure projects, preferably within the East African region. Experience with multinational construction firms or major EPC contractors is a plus. Salary The role offers a competitive salary ranging from 800,000 to 1,200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with performance‑based bonuses.
