Energy Regulation Board (ERB) is looking to hire qualified and experienced Zambian nationals to fill the position of Driver (x3), based at its Head Office in Lusaka. Job Type: 2 years fixed-term employment contract ERB Grade: ERB 8 Reports To: Head Driver Job Purpose To drive an assigned institutional / ERB motor vehicle for the purpose of transporting personnel and/or materials to required destinations. Main Duties and Responsibilities – Conduct pre-shift checks of the vehicle to ensure it is in sound operating condition and compliant with road traffic regulations. – Drive ERB staff, visitors and other officials as directed to and from required destinations. – Assist inspectors during inspections when requested. – Deliver and collect materials to or from specified locations as instructed. – Report faults, defects and accidents in a timely manner in accordance with ERB Transport Policy. – Alert the Head Driver when the assigned vehicle is due for service. – Conduct minor repairs to the assigned vehicle such as changing brake pads, oil, filters and light bulbs. – Keep an up-to-date record of travel in the vehicle logbook. – Ensure the assigned motor vehicle is kept secure at all times. – Undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Required Skills – Good communication and interpersonal skills. – Ability to communicate effectively in English and write reports. – Confidentiality and etiquette. – Computer literacy. – Ability to work with minimal supervision. Minimum Qualifications – Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent. ZAQA verification will be required. – Minimum SADC Driver’s License (PSV). – Certificate in Mechanics will be an added advantage. – At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a reputable organisation. – Experience driving manual vehicles. – ZAQA verification of all academic and professional qualifications will be required.
