Project Manager (Product Team) Job details Position: Employment type: Full-time Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Job description We are looking for a Project Manager We seek a dedicated professional to join our product team and assume responsibility for the daily product operations in Tanzania. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary local representative, coordinating directly with stakeholders and ensuring seamless communication between parties. This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly to maintain operational efficiency. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with clients and partners will be essential. Additionally, the role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. Customer App and Sales App In the Tanzanian market, this role involves orchestrating feature rollouts, executing testing cycles, liaising with customers and users, and overseeing ad-hoc product initiatives from conception to completion. This position operates as part of the product team, collaborating closely with stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and ensure seamless execution of product roadmaps. The role involves active participation in cross-functional meetings, contributing to product planning, and aligning deliverables with business objectives. By maintaining strong communication channels with engineering, design, and marketing teams, the individual will help translate vision into actionable outcomes while supporting the overall product lifecycle. Product Owner based in Kenya . Key responsibilities Customer App – Tanzania The Project Manager will assume full ownership of the Customer App within the Tanzanian market, serving as the primary liaison between the product team and local stakeholders. Key duties include: Coordinate and manage the deployment of new Customer App features in Tanzania, encompassing comprehensive planning, stakeholder communication, and post-launch performance evaluation to ensure successful adoption and seamless integration. Oversee the planning and execution of testing cycles for upcoming releases ahead of each deployment. Collect structured insights from internal testers as well as actual users to inform product development and improvement efforts. Conduct in-depth interviews with customers to gain insights into their app usage patterns, identify strengths within the product experience, and uncover areas for potential enhancement. Translate local market requirements and customer insights into concise, actionable specifications for the product team. Monitor and analyze critical Customer App metrics across Tanzania, promptly identifying any anomalies or potential areas for improvement, and escalate these findings to the Product Owner for evaluation and action. Sales App – Tanzania The Project Manager will assume full ownership of the Sales App within the Tanzanian market and act as the key liaison connecting field agents, sales leadership, and the product development team. Oversee the implementation of new Sales App functionalities in collaboration with the local sales team. Provide guidance to the sales team on new features and track their engagement with these enhancements. Conduct structured testing sessions with sales agents to validate new versions prior to their launch. Record discovered issues from testing phases and oversee their resolution to maintain product integrity and quality standards. Regularly meet with field agents to gather insights through interviews and feedback sessions, aiming to pinpoint usability challenges and areas where their needs remain unmet. Observe field usage patterns of the Sales App to ensure effective adoption and identify opportunities for improvement. Conduct a thorough analysis to pinpoint specific areas in which agents encounter challenges or resort to alternative methods outside the tool’s intended functionality. Ensure that all process requirements specific to Tanzania are accurately documented and incorporated into the product backlog. Ad-hoc product projects The Project Manager will spearhead or contribute to ad-hoc product initiatives tailored specifically for the Tanzanian market. These may include integrations with:

  • Local payment providers
  • Risk or ID verification partners
  • Telecom operators
  • Collaborates effectively with pertinent local technology or operational partners to enhance service delivery and support organizational objectives. Oversee the complete execution and delivery of projects from initiation to completion.

Establish clear project scope, manage stakeholder engagement, monitor progress, and guarantee on-time completion. Collaborate closely with external vendors and internal IT teams to establish and agree upon project requirements, milestones, and acceptance criteria. Document project results and transfer operational workflows to the designated teams upon project deployment.

  • Proactively recognize and communicate potential risks or obstacles as soon as they arise to ensure timely resolution and prevent project delays. Ensure the Product Owner receives continuous updates regarding the project’s status throughout the implementation phase. Requirements Applicants should meet the following requirements: A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Telecommunications, or a closely related discipline is required. A minimum of five years of professional experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Project Coordination, Telecommunications, Fintech, Digital Products, or a comparable field is required. Proven expertise in overseeing mobile application management, executing product rollouts, conducting user testing, facilitating user acceptance testing (UAT), and fostering effective stakeholder engagement. Demonstrated proficiency in analytical reasoning, problem-solving methodologies, and the management of projects from initiation through completion is required. Proven ability to collect and analyze customer feedback to effectively interpret business requirements into well-defined product specifications. Proficiency in Agile or Scrum methodologies would be beneficial. Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite alongside advanced project management platforms like Jira or Confluence is essential.
