Introduced in 2022 as the Youth on the Move Fellowship pilot, the program was jointly developed to tackle the obstacles young people on the move encounter in securing professional opportunities, including legal, financial, and administrative hurdles. UNICEF, in collaboration with the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program, initiated the UNICEF UNV Youth on the Move Program following the pilot’s success, with MCP remaining a critical implementation partner. This partnership focuses on mentorship initiatives, capacity building, alumni engagement, and enhancing youth involvement in migration and displacement policy discussions. The 2026–2027 cohort will provide support to Youth on the Move UAVs in Kenya, Uganda, Iraq, Colombia, Sudan, and Myanmar. Support will encompass mentorship programs, Skills Accelerator sessions, development roundtables, and professional development opportunities. About the Role The Youth on the Move (YOU) Program Coordinator will oversee the full spectrum of program operations, from strategic planning and activity design to execution and partnership development. This role requires managing all aspects of the YOU Program, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment with organizational objectives. The Coordinator will also cultivate and maintain key partnerships to enhance program impact and sustainability. The Coordinator will oversee program management and delivery, as well as develop the Skills Accelerator’s program architecture, design roundtables for skills development, establish mentorship frameworks, and create guidance resources. This position demands a self-driven professional skilled in cultivating partnerships, recruiting and managing facilitators and mentors, crafting dynamic learning experiences, and guaranteeing that all initiatives reflect the program’s commitment to inclusion and empowerment. The Coordinator will act as the main operational liaison between MCP, UNICEF, mentors, external partners, and participating UAVs.
