MECH Engineering Services Zambia Limited is currently recruiting a proactive and motivated SHE Officer to support the 20 MW power plant project at M/s. Kanazawa Sugars Limited (KSL) in Kanazawa, Scapula Province, Zambia. Required Educational Qualification: Revised: A Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health Management is required for this position. Experience: With a minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience in construction and manufacturing environments, specifically within the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHE) department, you bring a strong foundation to this role. Job Responsibilities: Develop, enforce, and continuously review safety and health policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational objectives. Perform regular toolbox talks, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational standards. Delivering comprehensive training and mentorship constitutes a key responsibility of this position. Conduct thorough examinations of accidents and incidents, and prepare detailed reports for senior management. Overseeing the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHE) committee is a key responsibility of this role. To ensure adherence to statutory regulations and industry standards. We are responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the SHE training program. To uphold the well-being and protection of employees is a key responsibility within this role. This includes implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations to mitigate workplace hazards effectively. Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of and adherence to safety protocols for various high-risk work environments, including elevated work, restricted areas, hot work operations, excavation activities, material handling, electrical safety protocols, and other relevant safety measures.
