Position Overview

Regional Inventory Controller – Location: Tanzania

Supply Chain at Jazz Energy operates within a dynamic, fast-moving, and adaptable environment that prioritizes collaboration and individual contributions. The Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining comprehensive stock accuracy throughout the regional fulfillment center. This position is designed to address and resolve stock discrepancies, uphold strict transaction protocols, and cultivate a regulated, traceable inventory framework in accordance with the inventory management system and Finance requirements. This is a development-focused position requiring comprehensive accountability for all aspects of logistics, including inbound, storage, outbound, and reverse logistics processes.

Reporting to: Regional Operations Lead, reporting through a dotted line to the Country Transport Coordinator, is responsible for overseeing and optimizing operational activities within designated regions. This role involves managing logistics, ensuring compliance with company policies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency and performance. The position requires strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and the ability to streamline processes across multiple locations while maintaining alignment with organizational goals.

Expectation

Main Missions

Zero reliance on adjustment-based workarounds. Ensure stock accuracy remains consistently above 98 percent across all product categories at all times. Inventory movements must be processed exclusively using approved IMS transaction types to ensure accuracy and compliance with established protocols. A comprehensive cycle count program is conducted seamlessly across all item classes, ensuring complete coverage without any omissions. Reverse logistics processes are managed end-to-end with defined accountability, real-time tracking capabilities, and systematic resolution protocols. Maintain continuous audit readiness through comprehensive documentation and robust controls at all times. Full traceability is ensured for serialized inventory throughout all stages, including inbound processing, storage management, and outbound logistics. Ensures consistent synchronization among IMS records, physical inventory counts, and QuickBooks Online (QBO) valuations at all times. Warehouse zoning is implemented rigorously, ensuring that all inventory locations are clearly defined and free of mixed storage.

Responsibilities

All reporting must be precise, delivered promptly, and structured to support informed decision-making for Supply Chain and Finance teams.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Inventory execution and control

Ensure complete oversight of inventory accuracy throughout the entire lifecycle, spanning from the receipt of incoming goods through final dispatch to customers and encompassing all returns processes.

Location

Verify that all stock movements are executed through the system, undergo validation, and maintain complete traceability. Streamline operational efficiency by removing manual workarounds and reinforcing strict transaction discipline throughout all workflows.

2. Inbound and receiving discipline

Receive all incoming shipments by verifying them against approved purchase orders, ensuring complete accuracy in quantity, serial numbers, and condition. Execute serialized Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) within the inventory management system, ensuring strict linkage to purchase orders (POs) and performing three-way match validation to confirm accuracy and compliance. All non-conforming inventory must be isolated without delay, and any exceptions to this action must be documented in real time. Coordinate inbound scheduling to align dock operations, workforce allocation, and storage capacity, ensuring seamless readiness across all designated areas. Capture landed cost inputs and forward them to Finance for reconciliation purposes.

3. Warehouse structure and inventory organisation

Maintain a meticulously organized six-zone warehouse structure, which includes Z1 Inbound Staging, Z2 Available Stock, Z3 Kitting and Outbound, Z4 Returns and Repairs, Z5 Obsolete and Scrap, and Z6 Quarantine. Enforce strict bin-level location control by maintaining precise inventory management system mappings at all times. Ensure distinct separation between usable, repair, quarantine, and scrap inventory categories.

4. Outbound and fulfillment discipline

Execute picking, packing, and staging operations in strict accordance with Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) deployment plans, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the process. Ensure that all outbound loads undergo thorough validation by conducting comprehensive system, physical, and documentation inspections. Proactively monitor deployment demand trends to ensure timely visibility and promptly identify potential stock risks before they escalate. Ensure all outbound documentation is thoroughly reviewed and precisely completed prior to dispatch to maintain compliance and operational efficiency. Ensures strict adherence to IMS-based order execution protocols among all relevant internal stakeholders.

5. Reverse logistics ownership

Responsibilities include managing the entire process of intake, categorization, and system updates for all returned inventory items. Apply condition-based zoning and execute same-day IMS updates for all returns to ensure compliance with established protocols and maintain operational efficiency throughout the process. Capture structured reason codes to facilitate variance analysis and performance evaluation. Oversee the complete lifecycle of supplier return procedures, ensuring they are processed efficiently and culminate in credit closure for all eligible transactions. Develop and oversee a dynamic returns tracking system to ensure comprehensive visibility and accountability at all times.

6. Inventory audit and cycle counting

Design and implement a structured cycle count program spanning all inventory classifications, ensuring systematic and consistent verification processes. Perform documented root cause analyses to execute quarterly full reconciliations. Investigate all discrepancies and resolve them with clear responsibility assigned for each case. Maintain a meticulously documented inventory movement log to ensure complete transaction traceability. Monitor and oversee transaction reversals, ensuring each is justified with thorough documentation and promptly escalated when necessary. Effective inventory management requires strict adherence to data discipline and robust systems control to maintain accuracy and operational efficiency. This role demands meticulous attention to detail in monitoring and validating inventory data, ensuring all entries are precise, current, and compliant with established protocols.
