Key Duties and Responsibilities The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously while executing specialized and intricate accounting functions that demand a deep comprehension of established accounting principles and methodologies. Responsibilities include providing support to the Director of Finance in fulfilling one or more of the following duties: Analyze financial transactions to verify their accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting standards. Responsibilities include compiling, evaluating, and clarifying financial reports, statements, and recordsâsuch as balance sheets, income statements, amortization schedules, and depreciation schedulesâto ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards. Compile and develop financial projections by gathering and organizing relevant data. Develop, implement, modify, and maintain comprehensive accounting systems while ensuring thorough documentation of all processes and procedures. The development and execution of new or updated accounting policies and procedures, along with establishing goals and priorities in the designated area(s), are key responsibilities. Responsibilities include overseeing the collection, documentation, processing, consolidation, and dissemination of diverse financial and statistical reports, statements, and summaries to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
- Responsibilities may include developing long-term financial strategies and establishing financial policies. Oversee all managerial aspects concerning staff within the designated area(s) of responsibility.
- Reconcile accounts Ensure that financial records are consistently managed in accordance with established accounting standards and best practices.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities We oversee and maintain continuous management and support of budgetary and forecasting operations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Monitor and support taxation issues
- Develop and maintain financial data bases Preparing for financial audits and overseeing the entire audit process are essential responsibilities of this role. The position requires meticulous planning and coordination to ensure audits are conducted efficiently and in accordance with regulatory standards. Ensure that revenues and expenses are recorded and analyzed with precision and appropriateness. Assists with compiling the monthly management report, along with its supporting schedules, worksheets, and narratives, including variance reports comparing âBudget vs. Actual.â Additionally, provides follow-up analysis and documentation for any notable variances.
- Support the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual regulatory filings, including the completion of assigned Quarterly and Annual Statutory Statement pages and schedules.
- Assisting with orienting and training employees. Providing support in organizing, delegating, and overseeing daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow and team productivity.
Participating in coaching and appraising performance. Assisting in the handling of complaints and the resolution of issues forms a key component of the role, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Performs additional tasks as directed by the Director of Finance or other authorized University representatives, as deemed necessary for operational effectiveness. Skill : Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficient understanding of statutory accounting practices, principles, procedures, and auditing standards is required. Demonstrates proficiency in pertinent accounting standards and regulatory frameworks. Demonstrated proficiency in executing payroll processing tasks and ensuring compliance with relevant reporting obligations.

Proficient in leveraging information and communication technology (ICT) with a strong command of MS Office applications, spreadsheets, accounting software suites, and proprietary business systems to efficiently compile work papers, generate detailed reports, craft professional memos, prepare concise summaries, and conduct thorough data analyses.
- Financial reporting skills. Demonstrates the capacity to comprehensively grasp and retain University policies and procedures, applying this knowledge effectively across diverse scenarios. Demonstrates strong aptitude for coordinating tasks, prioritizing responsibilities, and collaborating effectively within a team environment. Demonstrates proficiency in comprehending, analyzing, and implementing established internal rules, procedures, and policies. Demonstrated proficiency in gathering, compiling, and interpreting accounting information to ensure accurate and consistent financial records. Demonstrates the capacity to make prudent decisions while adhering to predefined policies and procedures. Demonstrates strong organizational skills with the capacity to effectively prioritize and coordinate various work activities.

Qualification Required: Desired Educational Qualifications Holders of Bachelorâs degree in- Bachelorâs degree in Accountancy Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting or Finance) Bachelor of Accounting and Finance Bachelor of Accounting and Taxation From an accredited college or university or any other qualification deemed equivalent, applicants must possess a degree or certification recognized by relevant authorities. Certified Public , Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) , with at least four (4) years With a solid background in accounting from a well-regarded firm or organization, candidates must hold valid professional registration. The Graduate Accountant (GA) position at the National Board of Accountants and Auditors necessitates the application of foundational accounting principles and practices under supervision while pursuing professional certification. This role involves assisting senior team members with financial record-keeping, preparing draft reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Candidates must hold a bachelorâs degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, demonstrate proficiency in accounting software, and exhibit strong analytical and communication abilities. Additionally, the position requires a commitment to continuous professional development through ongoing education and training to meet evolving industry demands. .
