Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC), established under the Malawi Housing Act of 1964 (Cap. 32:02), stands as Malawi’s leading provider of housing and related services. Position: Land Surveyor Location: Regional Office (North), Mzuzu Grade: HC 7 Reporting Line: Regional Manager (North) Key Responsibilities: Oversee and execute cadastral survey computations. Conduct comprehensive land surveys, including cadastral and topographic surveys, for both MHC and external clients within the region. Address land survey requests and resolve boundary disputes with urgency. Develop and manage budgetary allocations for the survey section. Collaborate with the Estates Management Section to address encroachment issues on MHC land reserves. Ensure the proper maintenance and upkeep of survey equipment. Compile and submit regular progress reports on regional land survey activities. Assign tasks and evaluate staff performance. Minimum Academic & Professional Requirements: Hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Land Surveying. Must be registered with the Surveyors Institute of Malawi or an equivalent professional body. Required Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience in land surveying. Key Competencies & Skills: In-depth expertise in various survey methods and operations. Strong leadership, organizational, and coordination abilities. Proficient in computer applications. Ability to work independently, demonstrate resilience, and maintain productivity in challenging environments. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
