Reporting Relationships: The position reports to the branch manager. No direct subordinates. Key relationships: The role works closely with the branch manager to ensure the growth of the business and its clients.
Job Summary: The Credit Officer will ensure the smooth operation of the operations department by implementing appropriate control measures and adhering to established policies and procedures, in order to maintain a healthy portfolio with a PAR not exceeding 3%, by conducting loan assessments in line with current policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess client eligibility for requested loans based on the credit policy manual. Interview clients to clearly explain EFL's loan procedures and requirements. Ensure all necessary documents for loan processing are prepared and submitted to the credit committee for approval. Advise clients on required documentation. Ensure all loan application forms are processed within prescribed timelines in accordance with the credit policy. Conduct risk assessments to ensure optimal recovery of disbursed funds. Advise management on the review of lending policies and procedures to ensure consistency and ability to achieve the company's strategy. Stay informed about new loan types, services, and financial products to best meet client needs. Develop lasting relationships between the company and clients with the aim of achieving high levels of loyalty and satisfaction. Handle client complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them. Ensure timely and accurate filing of all credit and loan information. Monitor outstanding loans under their responsibility, providing regular reports to the credit administrator or designated manager.

Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in any business-related discipline, preferably in Business Administration, from a reputable university.
