Head Chef
Rita Lori Hotels Ltd. is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead kitchen operations.
Job Context
This position is based at our establishment in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. It is a full-time contract (8am to 5pm) in the hospitality and catering sector. Minimum required experience is 10 years in professional cooking, including experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a 4-star hotel. A degree in culinary arts is preferred. Proficiency in English is required.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Leading all kitchen operations and ensuring consistent production of high-quality dishes.
Developing menus, recipes, cost calculations, and plating standards.
Recruiting, training, mentoring, and evaluating kitchen staff.
Maintaining HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Controlling food costs, waste, inventory, and purchasing.
Coordinating with management and other departments.
Driving innovation while maintaining operational efficiency.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate possesses:
Minimum 10 years of experience in professional cooking, including a role as Head Chef or Sous Chef in a 4-star hotel.
Degree in culinary arts (minimum diploma level) preferred.
Strong leadership, menu planning, budget management, inventory control, and food safety skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and team management skills.
