Business Development Manager
Anonymous Employer is recruiting a Business Development Manager to oversee and develop the non-core commercial activities of a reputable international school, ensuring their efficiency and sustainable revenue generation in service of the institution's mission.
Job Context
This position is based in Accra, Greater Accra Region, and is full-time (8am-5pm). The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (a Master's degree is an asset), along with 3 to 5 years of experience in business development, operations management, or facilities management. Experience in a school or educational setting is an advantage. Proficiency in English is required.
Main Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Overseeing the management of school accessories and merchandise items (uniforms, office supplies, branded items, etc.)
Managing school bookstore operations, including inventory, sales, and supplier relations
Planning, coordinating, and executing the annual book fair
Managing the rental and availability of school facilities (rooms, fields, classrooms) for external events and functions
Overseeing cafeteria services, ensuring quality, hygiene, and profitability
Supervising snack bar operations, including inventory management and sales
Identifying, developing, and managing other non-core revenue-generating business activities for the school
Developing business plans, budgets, and pricing strategies for each unit under management
Negotiating contracts and managing relationships with suppliers, tenants, and service providers
Monitoring revenue and preparing regular financial and performance reports for school management
Ensuring compliance of all business units with applicable regulations, health and safety standards, and school policies
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate possesses strong skills in negotiation, financial planning, and budgeting, as well as excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Good interpersonal and supplier management skills are essential. The salary offered is attractive.
