Job Summary

Responsibilities
Business Growth (60% of time)
Understand and implement the branch's strategic initiatives aimed at increasing new customer acquisition and wallet share from existing customers. Have a clear understanding of all retail and business banking products that can meet customer needs. Manage portfolio risks in line with the bank's risk appetite. Collaborate on the development and implementation of business initiatives with other functions (direct sales team, Asset Finance, CIB, Bancassurance) to maximize cross-selling and customer profiling opportunities. In collaboration with the branch manager, sector heads, and products, conduct product reviews and development through constant market feedback. Continuously conduct competitive intelligence to identify new markets, customer trends, new government directives, and regulatory policy changes. Contribute to the development of the branch's business strategy. Plan and coordinate marketing approaches for new customers and actively develop existing relationships. Actively seek to grow your own portfolio and cross-sell to achieve set targets. Assess and promptly handle customer complaints, escalating if necessary for quick resolution according to established standards. Ensure the quality of sales and new bank accounts in your portfolio, which must be promptly funded during onboarding. Continuously monitor your performance against agreed targets, daily for both new and existing customers. Implement appropriate action plans to address any performance gaps. Execute campaigns as agreed with the branch manager. Always ensure an excellent customer experience. Achieve business goals through strict adherence to deadlines and high service standards. Do not advise an existing customer to open a similar account at another branch for the purpose of transferring funds between accounts. Do not close an existing account in your branch or domiciled at another branch for the purpose of reopening a similar account. Account re-streaming must be done in accordance with bank policy.
Training / Qualifications
With the branch manager, take ownership of the branch's performance targets. Agree on branch execution plans/strategies and ensure they are aligned with the overall bank strategy (Growth, Transformation, and Returns).
Internal Control and Risk Management (10% of time)
Ensure that Absa Bank's policies and procedures are adhered to.
