The British Embassy in Dakar is recruiting a handyman/plumber responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and monitoring plumbing systems across embassy premises. The role includes carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on water supply, drainage and sanitation systems, responding to plumbing emergencies, performing general handyman tasks such as minor carpentry, masonry, tiling, painting and basic electrical work within authorized limits, conducting preventive maintenance inspections, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, supporting emergency interventions including after-hours when required, and reporting maintenance activities while coordinating with internal teams and external contractors. The position also involves contributing to the overall functioning of the embassy. The candidate must have at least three years of experience as a plumber, a qualification in plumbing, experience in facility maintenance, a valid Senegalese driving license, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse environment. Basic computer literacy and good English skills are desirable.
