Expérience

• This position is financed by a third-party, external to the Organization with funding provided by the donor. Although there is a commitment from the donor, the appointment may be terminated prior to official end date of project, should the external funding for this position no longer be available. This position also carries, in principle, no expectation of renewal. Any potential subsequent extension will be subject to the terms of the Organization’s Staff Manual, to satisfactory performance and to availability of funds. Tests/interviews in connection to this selection procedure will take place approximately 3 weeks after the deadline for applications. Applicants are kindly requested to plan their availability during this period accordingly, in case they are short-listed. ​Selected candidates will be expected to report for duty approximately two to three months after receiving an offer of employment at the latest. This selection exercise may be used to generate a reserve list of suitable candidates that may be used to address Organization's similar staffing needs in the future.

INTRODUCTION OF THE POST

The post holder will be a member of INTERPOL’s Environmental Security (ENS) Sub-Directorate. ENS supports law enforcement agencies to tackle wildlife crime – a criminal activity resulting in the illegal exploitation of wild flora and fauna, covering the entire supply chain, from poaching and transportation to processing and trading. In addition, wildlife crime is also facilitated by many other crime types, including document fraud, corruption, and money laundering.

Formation / Diplômes

The post holder will be required to facilitate law enforcement cooperation to tackle transnational wildlife crimes using INTERPOL’s tools and capabilities and increase the flow and exchange of information to enable the identification, disruption and dismantling of international criminal networks operating in this crime area.

Responsabilités

DUTY 1

Increase the flow and exchange of information related to wildlife crime through INTERPOL’s information system.

DUTY 2

Deliver operational support to the member countries, including initiating new cases and follow up of other ongoing cases and investigations.

DUTY 3

Support preparation and implementation of regional and global wildlife crime operations and follow up support resulting from such operations.
