Since 2017, the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has been working in the country to support people who have been forced to flee their homes. NRC helps protect displaced communities and supports them as they rebuild their lives. Operations are ongoing in all crisis-affected regions, including the Far North, Northwest, Southwest, East, and Adamawa. NRC's work focuses on four main areas: legal assistance (ICLA), water and sanitation (WASH), shelter, and education. These programmes are designed to respond to urgent needs while also supporting long-term recovery. Across its offices, NRC promotes an integrated approach, aiming to provide coordinated support that helps communities move from emergency to stability. Since April 2023, a large-scale conflict has broken out in Sudan, leading to a massive displacement of people towards neighbouring countries.
