Job Description African Parks is a non-profit organization that takes full responsibility for the rehabilitation and long-term management of national parks in partnership with governments and local communities. By adopting a commercial approach to conservation, supported by donor funding, we aim to make each park sustainable in the long term, thereby contributing to economic development and poverty reduction. We currently manage 24 national parks and protected areas in 13 countries, covering more than 20 million hectares in Angola, Benin, Nigeria and the United States. As part of our operations in DRC, African Parks Congo is looking to recruit a (01) Anti-poaching Analyst (H/F) for the Kundelungu National Park. This position represents an excellent opportunity to work with a unique conservation organization dedicated to protecting the remaining fauna, flora and wild spaces in Africa. APERÇU DU POSTE: Anti-poaching analyst supports the Park’s Information Coordination Centre to provide both tactical and strategic understanding for Kundelungu National Park and its area of interest, with a view to strengthening decision making and management of protected areas. The Analyst will produce analytical reports and maintain organized databases. Thus, the Analyst will develop programs and scripts to help with data collection and analysis and maintain the server infrastructure for anti-poaching analysis. Functions and responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Park Information Coordination Center Manager, the Anti-Poaching Analyst will be responsible for: Advertising Debriefing Intelligence (defined as acquiring and analyzing intelligence to determine capabilities, intentions and opportunities for exploitation by leaders at all levels); Supporting Law Enforcement in the Park by providing the means to conduct intelligence-based operations; Develop and maintain priority information needs (PIR); Assist in the development and updating of the Information Collection Plan (ICP) at least twice a year, and the assignment of tasks to sources and organizations to meet information needs (IR); Orient park investigators in their collection of information and documentation; Prepare target files to support KFNL criminal investigations and prosecutions in the country’s various jurisdictions; Prepare any intelligence products at the request of management, including but not limited to weekly intelligence summaries; Establish and maintain systematic and referenced records and intelligence files; Establish and maintain essential liaison with other AFN parks, as well as relevant non-governmental and governmental organizations and other partners, in order to enhance the Common Intelligence Image (CIP) and strengthen the Park’s investigations and prosecutions; Ensure compliance with the highest ethical and legal standards, as well as AFN values, in the conduct of all team activities and by all team personnel; Perform any other duties requested by the park supervisor as part of the team's mission. Skills and qualifications required: Highly intelligent person with high analytical ability Excellent written and oral speaking ability Good level of computer science knowledge and willingness to learn new software. Preferably, a graduate degree or more with one to three years of experience in the field. Willingness to commit to a nondisclosure agreement. Willingness to commit for at least three years. A calm person who is not afraid of not being the center of attention. Have a clean criminal record. Fluency in French is essential, fluency in English is also preferable.
