Job Description African Parks is a non-profit organization that takes full responsibility for the rehabilitation and long-term management of national parks in partnership with governments and local communities. This position represents an excellent opportunity to work with a unique conservation organization dedicated to protecting the remaining fauna, flora and wild spaces in Africa. APERÇU DU POSTE: Collects, organizes and maintains control over a wide range of primary documents. Creates professional-standard research instruments and encodes research instruments using contemporary tools to make them accessible to all. Provides research assistance on the use of archival materials. Develops policies and/or procedures and directly manages the acquisition, disposition, access and retention of archival documents. MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Create and design filing/archiving systems for APC (physical and digital) Ensure proper coding of all accounting documents before archiving. Ensure reconciliation of physical archiving with electronic/digital archiving Design archival systems to facilitate document retrieval and sorting Ensure security and safety of all archived documents Perform reconciliations between GL and archived documents and analyze discrepancies Design and communicate sorting systems for all in a timely manner during controls, audits and when required by the financial team Develop, organize and describe accepted archival systems. Participates in the development and implementation of archiving policies and standards. Skills, qualifications and experience required for the post University degree in Archiving Techniques, Finance, Accounting or similar field. A first experience directly related to archiving is acceptable Good knowledge in computer science, Excel and processing of PDF files Knowledge of the concepts, methodology and techniques of archiving and preservation. Competence in the organization of resources and setting priorities. Knowledge of archival ethics and laws relating to the management of archives. Implementation of archival collection procedures Ability to perform reconciliations. Ability to work under pressure Well-organized archives that make it easier to find documents.
