Main duties

The Beninese Association for Social Marketing and Communication for Health (ABMS) is a local NGO member of the network of the international NGO Population Services International (PSI). It provides vulnerable and/or low-income populations in Benin with health products and services at subsidized prices (HIV/AIDS prevention, STIs, malaria, family planning, child survival, hygiene and sanitation). In order to set up the management and implementation team of its project, PSI/ABMS is looking for immediately available talents for the following positions:

• 01 Administrative Vehicle Driver (ACV) based in Cotonou (Littoral);
• 01 Administrative Vehicle Driver (ACV) based in Djougou (Donga);
• CVA to build a pool (in the intervention areas and as needed). Job summary: Under the direct authority of the Head of Service Park Auto and Safety, the CVA is mainly responsible for the travel of ABMS colleagues and can be requested for other tasks. Missions: A. Driving vehicles: ensure the loading of products; drive vehicles assigned for project activities (official appointments, races, missions, mail delivery) with discretion and in compliance with traffic regulations; keep available to staff; keep logbooks; supply vehicles with fuel; ensure cleaning, overhauls and repairs; anticipate and report technical difficulties; make sure that vehicles have the necessary parts in place; perform the appropriate tasks in case of accidents. B. Maintenance and follow-up: daily vehicle maintenance; resolving/reporting minor technical problems; troubleshooting; notifying the Park Manager when approaching a maintenance mileage; daily technical checks before starting; checking the pharmacy box and safety equipment before each shift. C. Prepare outings: inspect and prepare the vehicle the day before; fill in the morning check-up sheet every beginning of the week; perform any other tasks at the request of the supervisor. Profile:
• Have the level of the 3rd class (elimination criterion);
• Hold at least a category B driver's licence (elimination criterion); a higher category licence would be an asset;
• Have at least three (03) years of driving experience in an international company or NGO;
• Have previously worked as a CVA in a public or private structure;
• Good knowledge of the functioning of the administration;
• Mastering the driving of pick-up, Prado, bus and similar utility vehicles;
• Good geographical knowledge of the national territory;
• Fluency in oral and written French is essential. Advantages: notions of mechanics, experience in NGOs or international organization, use of GPS.
