We are seeking a Hands-On Mechanical Engineer to spearhead the mechanical design, fabrication, assembly, and testing of industrial process machinery (including heavy-duty hoppers, bagging scales, milling machinery, conveyors, and automated material handling equipment). This is not an desk-only managerial role . You will divide your time between the CAD station and the shop floor, creating 3D models and manufacturing drawings, then actively welding, machining, assembling, and working side-by-side with our fabrication team to build high-performance machinery. Key Responsibilities 3D Design & Engineering: Develop full 3D assembly models, sheet metal flat patterns, structural frame layouts, and manufacturing blueprints using CAD software (SolidWorks / Autodesk Inventor). Direct Hands-On Fabrication: Perform heavy cutting, fitting, MIG/TIG welding, and precision machining (lathe/milling) for prototypes, custom linkages, and structural assemblies. Shop Floor Leadership: Lead from the front by building alongside the fabrication team, demonstrating proper techniques, and troubleshooting mechanical fitment issues on the fly which may include but not be limited to welding, cutting, grinding, painting etc. Mechanism & Pneumatic Integration: Design and fit mechanical actuation systems (slide gates, clamshell valves, bearing housings, pneumatic cylinders, and linear drives). Quality & Alignment: Ensure tight tolerances, structural rigidity, smooth mechanism travel, and dust-tight seal integrity on all completed builds. Candidate Qualifications & Skill Set Education & Experience: Degree or Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Agricultural/Industrial Engineering, paired with at least 3+ years of direct shop-floor fabrication experience . CAD Proficiency: Advanced mastery of parametric 3D modeling, sheet metal unfold rules, weldments, and bill of materials (BOM) generation. Metalworking Expertise: Strong practical skills in structural steel fitting, plate layout, MIG/TIG welding, and operation of manual/CNC machine tools (lathe, mill, plasma). Mechanical Systems: Solid understanding of power transmission (sprockets, chains, gearboxes, bearings) and pneumatic circuits (solenoids, cylinders, regulators). Work Ethic: Strong physical stamina, proactive mindset, and a genuine passion for building machinery with their own hands.
